What’s a DTS?!

Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) aim to prepare messengers of the gospel, helping students to know God in depth. The goal is to form Christian character and establish Biblical relationships while developing a daily walk with God. This intensive Christian training course begins with an 11 or 12 week classroom phase followed by an 8-10 week outreach.

The DTS is designed to encourage students to develop in personal character, to cultivate a living relationship with God, and to identify their unique individual gifts and callings in God. Cross-cultural exposure and global awareness are special emphases throughout these courses, preparing the students to reach current and future generations and answer the call to “Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations” Matthew 28:19.

YWAM Mendoza offers the following DTS:

FOOTBALL/SOCCER DTS

Everyone in Argentina is passionate about soccer!  The Soccer DTS is a time to learn about God and your identity in Him and improve your soccer techniques.  We´ll use the sport as a tool in the community and beyond during outreach.  You’ll also see how Kingdom principles can be communicated both on and off the pitch.

COMPASSION AND ARTS DTS

Learn about God’s heart for the hurting and lost and for the world of arts in our Compassion and Arts DTS. In addition to traditional DTS activities, students will take part in mercy ministry around the city as well as be trained various art disciplines.  Be in a place where God is moving in new ways and more!

SPORTS DTS

Sports bring people together and transcend language and cultural barriers.  In addition to separating a time out for going deeper in relationship with God, this DTS is for those interested in a variety sports, such as soccer, tennis, volleyball, running, etc.  Use your passion for sports to reflect God’s character to those around you.  In the Sports DTS we also offer optional outdoor sports activities in the nearby Andes mountains throughout the theory phase.

COUNSELING DTS

Experience God as “Counselor.”  We receive from Him so we can give to others.  During this DTS you’ll experience God’s healing and restoration over your life.  You’ll also be serving and ministering in childrens homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, detention facilities, etc. around Mendoza.  Consider making a year out of it…and stay for the Foundations for Counseling Ministry!

DTS w/orientation in CHINA

China has one of the largest populations of the world and is rapidly becoming a dominant player on the international scene.  Go deeper with God as you get to know His heart and love for the nation of China and discover the unique ways the Chinese cultural reflects a glimpse of who God is.  This DTS will begin the first part of the theory phase in Mendoza and finish the theory phase and outreach portion of the school in China.
